Behind the Scenes: Clairvoyant Tenement Housewives

Join a mini-tour of the tenement to explore the early 20th century recreated apartments of Professor Dora Meltzer’s neighbors. See where the advertisement announcing her mind-reading talents was discovered and hear about Dora’s family life. Historian and Yiddishist Edward Portnoy, will also give context to the story and shed light on the role of fortune tellers in the immigrant community. Fee program, tickets are required.
